New Hair Styles for This Season

Hot Bun
1. Start with a low side part, then gather all of your hair into a side
ponytail and secure it with a clear elastic band.

2. Braid the tail and secure the end with another clear elastic.
3. Wrap the braid around its base to form a bun, and anchor it to your head
with bobby pins. For a secure hold, stab the bun,
then slide the pin into the hair along your scalp and hook the pin downward.
Use about eight bobby pins around the base of the bun.

Crowned Jewel
Allow your curly or textured hair to get a little wild, then top it off
with a stylish headband that matches your hair color.
The headband adds glamour, but it's discreet.
1. Sprinkle a waxbased root volumizer onto your scalp, then flip your head
and massage it in with your fingers. Hair wax is great
to use at the end of the day, when your curls are drooping.
2. Flip upright—your hair will be full of volume—
and slide on a dressy headband, like the black satin one
3. Don't smooth the frizzy bits. When you're out dancing, the flyaways
will catch the light, creating a soft halo.

Pretty Pony
The beauty of the messy side pony:
This look works best on thick hair, whether it's straight or curly.
1. Pull your hair into a low side ponytail and secure it with a clear elastic.

Don't use a brush. This is meant to be sexy and dreamy,
and it's OK if a few hairs are out of place.
2. Get tousled volume by grabbing your crown and giving your hair one big squeeze.
3. Pull a quarter-inch piece of hair out of the ponytail, coat it with hair spray
until it's damp, then wrap it around the tail's base to cover the elastic band.
Hide the tip of the piece in the tail's underside and pin it neatly so it doesn't show.
4. Finger-comb a dime-size amount of anti-frizz shine serum
through the tail to smooth flyaways and add a gleamy finish.

Big Tease

Thin is great—unless you're talking about your hair. This sleek style will add lots of
luscious body (plus a bit of drama) to fine or limp locks.

1. Run an open palm through your hair, from your forehead back to your crown,
and gather that chunk of hair into a clip and secure it on top of your head.
2. Above each ear, brush a two-inch section of hair back,
mist each with hair spray, and secure the sections together at the back of your head
with a clear elastic band to form a tight ponytail.
3. Unclip the top portion, and tease the hair with a rattail comb.
Comb downward starting two inches above your scalp.
Work from your hairline to your crown.
4. Gently smooth the teased section with a brush,
just enough to tame flyaways.
5. Set the style with hair spray.
