2016 TSDayOut : Paya Indah Wetlands, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and Sepang Go-Kart

I have been selected to participate this TSDayOut last weekend on 3rd September 2016. 

It was a day out organised by Tourism Selangor, this effort to organize 

"TS Day Out" has started in year 2011.

This time round, this event is collaborated with Sepang International Circuit 

and Paya Indah Wetland at Dengkil. 

Part 1: Paya Indah Wetlands

It was a fruitful but also a tired day!

First, we went to Paya Indah Wetlands at Dengkil

A little intro about Paya Indah Wetlands:
It was formerly a mining land.
The wetlands is divided into three zones. 

Recreation Zone

Education Zone

Conservation Research Zone

Total area is 3,100 hectares which consists of lakes, 
marshes and low land tropical forest
Some atttractions are:
Crocodile Farm

Hippopotamus Pond
(info refer below)
Malay Village (Kampung Melayu)

Sometimes there is some cultural activities at this

Terengganu Malay House
Observation Tower (Menara Tinjauan)

Enjoy a panoramic view of Putrajaya and some lakes. 

Only 10 persons are allowed to go up at one time. 

Fishing Area

Fishing is possible on Typha Lake from 8am - 6:30pm everyday except Fridays. 

The cost is RM10 per rod. No live bait is allowed.
Kayaks and Paddle Boats 

Kayak rental costs RM7 per hour. 

An instructor can be hired for groups of between 10 to 20 people 

at RM180 for 3 hours (prior reservation is needed).

The hours for kayaking are 9am - 12pm, 3pm - 6pm.

Operation Hours:
Daily except Friday : 8am-6pm
Friday: 8am-12pm, 2:45pm-6pm
Admission is FREE but you will need to register at the main entrance of the wetlands. Parking is also available.

Paya Indah Wetlands is quite well sign-posted. Coming from Putrajaya head towards Dengkil. 

At the traffic lights in Dengkil turn right towards Banting. 

After a couple of kilometres turn right when see a sign for Paya Indah. 

Follow the road to the end. 

What happened on that TSDayout at the Paya Indah Wetlands?

On that day, we were divided into four groups, and in a group of 10, 

we were told to work as a a team to hunt for the photos based on the 6 questions given.

I was assigned to cover the crocodile farm.

So here you go, this is my photo when the officer on duty feed the crocodile with dead chickens.

After that I walked to the nearby station, the hippo farm.
I was given a chance to feed the hippo too!
It was fun!

Part 2 : Sepang International Circuit (SIC)

After an hour plus, we moved to Sepang International Circuit by coach.

Lunch was at 1pm, and we reached SIC about 11.30am.

So we were briefed on the SIC and the events on that day, that was the 1000KM Sepang Race by local automobile, such as Proton, and Honda, etc.

We were given 10 minutes to experience the starting grid on the race track.

It was really hot outside. The temperature is estimated to be 33-34 degree Celsius.

Endurance Race 2016 

(1st September - 4th September)

With one of the invited guess, the social media influencer, Zack Zainefer.

Experience the starting grid at SIC for 10 mins.

After lunch, prize giving ceremony for the photo hunt, winner is Group C.

Then we have a tour at SIC for about an hour plus.

We were brief on the different function rooms, such as Time Keeper room, Control Room, 

Media Room, VIP Lounge, Award Podium and Paddock.

Part 3 : Sepang Go-Kart

After that, we were on the Go-Kart experience at Sepang about 6pm.

The race track for go-kart  is a total of 1.247KM long, and 10m wide,

with 11 challenging bends.

10 Minutes Fun Ride

Series 1 Kart: 
  • 200cc, 4 stroke, Engine 6.5 horsepower
  • Maximum number of karts on the track at one time is 20 karts
  • Price: RM42.40 per pax
Series 2 Kart: 
  • 100cc, 2 stroke, Engine 16 horsepower
  • Maximum number of karts on the track at one time is 13 karts
  • Price : RM106.00 per pax
Series 3 Kart:
  • 125cc, 2 stroke, Engine 21 horsepower
  • Maximum number of karts on the track at one time is 10 karts
  • Price : RM159.00 per pax

Sepang International Kart Circuit (SIKC) is located within Sepang International 

Circuit (SIC). The Kart Circuit was designed by the renowned F1 Track designer, 

Hermann Tilke, who was also responsible for the layout of Sepang International 

Circuit’s main Track.

The karting track is 1.247km long and 10m wide, with 11 challenging bends. 

SIKC is a professional karter’s circuit sanctioned by Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK) 

under the Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA) for Asia Zone C. 

The tarmac used is identical to the one on the main track, thus offers the best racing experience.
